In order to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Myoma market and bus stops in Thanlyn Township were disinfected starting on the evening of March 26.

This is part of wider efforts being rolled out to tackle the spread of the virus in Myanmar.

Myanmar has so far registered a total of five cases of COVID-19.

It is learned that legislator from that constituency, township city development committee and social organizations will jointly conduct this disinfectant spraying work twice a week in the township.

Yangon Region legislative assembly legislator Nay Lin Aung from Thanlyn Township constituency said, “This virus threat is not only in our country. Our country is one of the countries which faced this virus threat very last. It is inevitable. We will face this challenge with our best intentions. We firmly believe we shall overcome this challenge.”

Thanlyn city development committee, local legislator and social organizations will jointly do this work in the evening when not crowded with people in the market and in the streets.

Similarly, the authorities are carrying out an education campaign by distributing pamphlets.
