Three dolphins beached at Chaungtha shore alive

Three dolphins (locally known as Lingshu) were beached near Chaungtha Seashore in Pathein Township, Irrawaddy Region on the afternoon of June 27.

Locals said that as two dolphins beached near Jai Gyi shore at about 11 a.m. were found, the Department of Fisheries inspected by boat and released them near a cold stream near Kyauk Pha Gyi Island in the west of “The` Phyu” (White Sand) Island.

One of the two beached dolphins is 6 feet 1 inch in length, 2 feet 7 inches in circumference, 1 foot 4 inches of Tail, 7 inches of dorsal fin and 9 inches of beside fin. The other is 6 feet 3 inches in length, 2 feet 7 inches in circumference, 1 foot 9 inches of tail, 7 inches of dorsal fin and 9 inched of beside fin.

Another dolphin was beached again in front of Shwe Hin Tha Hotel at around 2 pm and released near Kyauk Pha Gyi Island.
