Union Election Commission (UEC) Chairman requested political parties not to be sceptical regarding the commission’s works for the forthcoming 2020 general elections.
The UEC chairman was speaking at a meeting with political parties held at commission office in Naypyitaw on November 14.
UEC chairman Hla Thein said, “We have many worries. We are doing our work in accordance with five standards so please don’t be sceptical. If you have doubts, you can come and discuss them with us. We invite all of you. Suspicion is not good for either of us, you can say whatever you think and come to us at any time and discuss them with us frankly. We will resolve all problems you have.”
The UEC said recently that they would hold the 2020 general elections to be credible, free and fair with five standards.
The general elections are scheduled to be held at the end of 2020 but UEC has not yet disclosed the exact poll date.
