During his 4-day tour to Myanmar, French Foreign and International Development Minister Mr Jean-Marc Ayrault met with Yangon Heritage Trust (YTH) Chairman Dr Thant Myint Oo on 19June and discussed the preservation of Yangon’s heritage buildings.
They met at the U Thant Museum where they talked about U Thant’s life and domestic and world affairs. They later went to the old secretariat and former parliament buildings and visited the Armenian Apostolic Church.
The YTH said in a statement that it hopes the meeting with the French FM will be the beginning of cooperation between France and Myanmar in exploring ways to preserve the unique heritage of Myanmar using modern and advanced techniques.
