A total of 71 Taiwanese citizens returned from Myanmar on a charter flight on Sunday afternoon amid a serious COVID-19 outbreak, CNA reported.

Also onboard the Myanmar Airways International flight which arrived at Taoyuan International Airport at 3:23 p.m. were eight foreign nationals who have Taiwan residency, according to customs authorities.

After arriving at the airport, quarantine workers in full protective gear helped to transfer all passengers to government-designated group quarantine facilities on buses.
