72 new COVID-19 cases reported

The number of COVID-19 cases in Myanmar has increased to 143,823 on Wednesday after 72 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, according to a release from the Ministry of Health and Sports, Xinhua reported.

One new death was reported on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 3,218 in the country, the release said.

Meanwhile, the ministry imposed a stay-at-home order in Kalay township of Sagaing region starting Thursday as the township has recently seen an increasing number of COVID-19 confirmed cases.
