ABSDF confirms that all Myawaddy detainees released

The All-Burma Students' Democratic Front (ADSDF) says a handful of their members were recently arrested and then released by the Myanmar junta security forces in Myawaddy.

Comrade Than Khe, chairman of the ADSDF, confirmed to Mizzima that an officer and all members in Myawaddy township liaison office arrested by the coup junta were released on the morning of November 5. An officer and three members of ADSDF Liaison office in Myawaddy township were arrested by police and local officials on November 2.

"Yes, they have been released. We are still discussing the issue,” said Comrade Than Khe.

The militant council told local media that members of the ADSDF were arrested after claims were made that they were linked to a People's Defence Force or PDF.

The four comrades are Comrade Aung Baw, the liaison officer, Comrade Tin Soe, Comrade Kapali and Comrade Khin Maung Win were arrested and taken to a military council battalion base in Myawaddy.

The Peace Process Steering Team (PPST) denounced that the arrest of ABSDF members violated the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) in a meeting held on 4 November.
