Anti-junta film racks up over one million views in 12 hours

The anti-regime short film Stateless, made by director Na Gyi to raise funds for the Spring Revolution was watched over one million times on YouTube within 12 hours of its release.

It was posted on the PaDayTharPin YouTube channel at 8:00 a.m. on 30 May and by 8:00 p.m. that evening had received over 1 million hits.

The director, Na Gyi and the actors Daung and Paing Phyo Thu, who play the two characters in the film, expressed their appreciation for everyone who helped in making the film and thanked all the viewers who had watched it.

They also asked people to not download or re-distribute the film and only watch it on the PaDayTharPin YouTube channel because watching it that way will raise more funds for the revolution, which is why they made the film.

Many people who have seen the film have said how much they liked it and shared it on social media.

The Military Council has issued arrest warrants against Na Gyi, Daung, Paing Phyo Thu and everyone else involved in the making of the film.
