After the Myanmar junta arrested a person who was raising funds and supporting refugees from the war in Kalay, Sagaing Region, many people were arrested because of his disclosure.

After the Military Council arrested Ko Chit Min Khant who lives in the Chanmyae Aung Si area (12), Zabbuaye Monastery Road, he revealed the names of people who helped the People’s Defence Forces (PDF) through his efforts.

Until the morning of 29 July, more than 70 people were arrested, according to local people.

''He is disclosing information of a lot of people who helped the PDF. We want to caution those who have communicated with him that they need to go to a safe place,” a person who has a close
relationship with the resistance forces told Mizzima.

According to local reports, Ko Chit Min Khant recently sold tickets to launch a phone lottery as a fund, and the ticket purchasers, including benefactors, are supposedly being arrested by the Military Council.

All of the people who have been arrested are reportedly being interrogated by the Military Council at the DAKS Regional Command Headquarters in Kalay Township.

The detainees were taken to the DAKS, and infantry battalion (87) for interrogation in Kalay Township.

The Sagaing Region has been the scene of serious resistance in the wake of the 2021 military coup.
