Attack on Myanmar junta patrol car in Muse kills one pro-junta militia member

An armed resistance group attacked a patrolling security car carrying the junta’s military troops and pro-junta Lone Htan militia on 22 June at around 6:00 pm near the Honar High School, Honar Ward, Muse Town in northern Shan State. According to local reports, during the attack, one member of the Lone Htan militia was killed, while another sustained injuries.

“They were shot while patrolling. Two militias were hit by the weapons. One died,” said a resident from Muse Town to Mizzima.

The battle between the junta and the resistance group took about 15 minutes and the one member of the anonymous armed group, which came to attack, was reportedly shot and killed.

“One from the [resistance] group coming to attack also died. He ran into the school and was chased after by the junta troops and the militia,” said the local.

Mizzima has yet to confirm which resistance group carried out the attack.

After the shooting, the junta troops conducted an investigation and arrested four Kawng Hka militias from a house near the incident.
