China on Wednesday confirmed that President Xi Jinping will hold a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during this week's APEC summit in Bangkok, saying the two sides should "work together to build a China-Japan relationship that meets the requirements of the new era".
China also said that it is committed to "promoting the healthy and stable development" of China-UK relations, after a planned meeting between Britain's new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G20 summit was cancelled.
