Chinese Defence Minister Li Shangfu on Sunday hailed ties with Moscow during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.

The "strong" ties between the two countries have "surpassed the military-political alliance model of the Cold War era" and "entered a new era with great strides", Li said.
