COVID-19 restrictions lifted for elections

Myanmar's Health and Sports Ministry has lifted its Covid-19 restrictions on mass gatherings and stay-at-home orders for the upcoming general elections, Xinhua reported.

According to the announcement today, the Ministry of Health and Sports will allow gatherings of 30 people or more at polling stations on election day.

Meanwhile, the ministry also announced that citizens who are residing in townships under stay-at-home orders will be allowed to go to respective polling stations to cast votes on election day.
