Defence force (PDF) killed Tun Tun Naing (aka A Ngal Lay), an administrator of the southern part of Swa Town, in Bago Region’s Taungoo District at around 7:30 a.m. on 15 November.

According to a statement from Bago Region PDF, members of its organisation and members of Phoenix Guerilla Force killed Tun Tun Naing at his shop as part of Operation Nan Htike.

A representative of Phoenix Guerilla Force said: “The Military Council appointed administrator [Tun Tun Naing] threatened and oppressed people, extorted money, and arrested Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) members. That's why he was eliminated as part of our mission.”

During the assassination, Tun Tun Naing’s associates tried to defend him and fought back against the defence force fighters, but the defence forces managed to retreat without suffering any casualties
