A signboard featuring candidates of the Mon Unity Party (MUP) in Inlaymyine Industrial Zone in Myeik Township, Taninthayi Region, was destroyed by someone on 8 October night, according to a party candidate.

MUP candidate Naing Aung Myo said, “Mon are minorities in this area. I don’t know why it was destroyed.”

He said that the party informed the District electoral sub-commission about it.

In the past few days, signboards of UBP, PPP, UDP and NLD were also destroyed in other places.

Nine political parties will stand for the general elections in Myeik.
