There was a grenade attack on the Bo Sein Mhan Ward Administration Office in Yangon City’s Bahan Township, at 7:00 p.m. on 20 February.

The attack was carried out by a combined force from the Freeland Attack Force (FLA) and the Emerald Girls Army (EGA) defence forces.

A member of the FLA said to Mizzima: “I recently heard that an office guard was sent to hospital after being hit. The [administration] office is next to the BEHS school, so the brick wall between the school and the office was also damaged.”

Following the attack, all of the defence force fighters were able to safely retreat without suffering any injuries.

Later that day at 11:00 p.m., in the neighbouring Sanchaung Township, also in Yangon City, ward administrator Myo Myint Naing, was shot and injured in Lin Loon Taung Ward.

According to locals he is currently receiving treatment at Mingaladon Military Hospital.

It is not yet known which defence forces were behind the attack on Myo Myint Naing.
