Increasing figures of all-round attacks in Myanmar from 19 to 25 October - NUG

The Defence Ministry of National Unity Government published the situations of armed conflicts and clashes which took place from 19 to 25 October. The document of Department of Strategic Study and Federal Army Affairs of the ministry was based on reports of more than 40 local media outlets and frontline information.

Except Nay Pyi Taw, every region and state in Myanmar saw attacks and conflicts. The incidents were recorded under different categories of armed clashes, people’s defensive war, explosions and assassinations.

Armed clashes occurred in five areas, 4 times each in Shan and Kayin, 3 times in Mon and 1 time in Kachin and Sagaing. In these 13 incidents, a total of 95 junta soldiers and 15 civilians were killed.

People’s defensive wars took place 10 times in Sagaing Region in a week, 4 times each in Yangon and Bago, 2 times each in Chin and Magway, 1 time each in Mandalay, Shan and Ayeyawady, 25 times, killing 89 junta soldiers and 1 injured, while a total of 15 civilians were killed and 1 injured.

A total of 27 explosions occurred in the same week, 5 times each in Sagaing and Yangon, 4 times in Thanintharyi and Mandalay, 2 times in Bago and Ayeyarwady and 1 time in Kayah, Chin, Magway and Mon, leaving 7 dead and 2 injured junta soldiers, as well as 14 civilian deaths.

Terrible figures of assassination

There were 62 assassination cases in the third week of October, and the number contributed 49 percent in some 127 armed clashes and conflicts in a single week. Sagaing region recorded 14 assassination cases, followed by 11 in Yangon, 10 in Mandalay, 8 in Bago, 6 each in Mon and Ayayawady, 4 in Magway, 1 in Kachin, Kayah and China. Among these cases, 2 junta soldiers were killed.

More armed conflicts and clashes in central Myanmar, Yangon and Mandalay

The Defence Ministry of National Unity Government reported higher number of armed conflicts and clashes in the third week of October from 19 to 25 in Sagaing and Mandalay regions of central Myanmar.

It recorded 31 armed clashes in Sagaing, 15 in Mandalay, 20 in Yangon, 14 in Bago, 4 in Chin and 2 in Kayah.

Out of 50 violent attacks by junta troops from 19 to 25 October, Sagaing regon has recorded the highest number of attack with 12 times, followed by 9 times in Chin, 8 times in Tanintharyi. Significantly, junta soldiers conducted violent attacks in Rakhine state where the revolutionary activities hardly occurred.

In these violent attacks by junta troops, 17 soldiers and 19 civilians were injured, and they arrested 74 civilians.
