Military Council troops reinforced in Mindat

The military council’s troops were sent in fourteen military vehicles to Mindat township in southern Chin State this afternoon on July 21.

"We were crossing the Yaw Chaung Ohn Taw Bridge and went to Mindat township at around 2 pm. It is known that they are soldiers from the 101st LID (Light Infantry Division Division). We counted 14 Military vehicles and civilian’s cars,” a local told Mizzima.

The CDF issued a statement that twenty-four comrades were killed on the battlefield to overthrow the dictatorship, to set up Federal democracy and for the sake of the people and the nation.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) transported aid to Mindat, Chin State on July 20. However, UNCHR was unable to provide aid to refugees in villages and forests as Military council allowed them to provide aid only refugee camps in the town.

More than 15,000 locals have been displaced as clashes between the Chin State Defense Force (CDF) founded by anti-military Chin people, and Military council troops have broken out since late April.
