Military junta’s supply convoy attacked in Sagaing Region’s Pale

A supply convoy of 12 junta vehicles was attacked by a guerrilla group in Pale Township in Sagaing’s Yinmabin District, at 1.30 pm on 23 March.

The convoy left Monywa on 22 March. The convoy provided weapons and food to Innma Htee Village, in Pale Township, where training for the pro-junta Pyu Saw Htee militia was being held, at around 6.30 am on 23 March. On the way back, the convoy was attacked in the area between Min Tai Pin Village and Naw Kan Village.

“The vehicles [in the junta’s convoy] were armoured. That's why the local resistance forces carried out a guerrilla attack. We fired heavy weapons. The armoured vehicles were hit by shells,” said an officer from the headquarters of the Pale People Defense Force (PDF).

Each car in the convoy carried about five soldiers and the fighting lasted for about 20 minutes. The number of casualties has not been confirmed.

"I saw about five cars entering the Pale Hospital. Some people must have been injured. The cars left the hospital after about two hours," said a Pale resident.

Similarly, on 18 March, junta troops set fire to Kaing Dwin Village in Pale Township, Yinmabin District. Cattle and other supplies were taken by the troops to Inma Htee Village, where they were stationed. As a result, fighting broke out with PDFs.
