Min Thukha sentenced to 10 years in prison by military tribunal

Min Thukha, former president of the Dagon University Students' Union, was sentenced to 10 years in prison by a military tribunal in North Okkalapa Township on September 6. Min Thukha was arrested by military council forces on June 5 and sentenced three months later.

“He called his home to say that he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The charge is not known, but it is said to be defamatory of the state,” a source close to his family told Mizzima.

Min Thukha, who is visually impaired, has been accused by the military council of carrying out bombings. Min Thukha is a third-year student majoring in mathematics at Dagon University and served as chairman of the Dagon University Students' Union in 2014 and 2016.
