More than 1,900 Myanmar children, who fled the country with their families and took refuge in Mizoram, have been enrolled in various schools of the state, where they receive free education, a senior official said on Tuesday, according to NDTV.

Education department director James Lalrinchhana said that the state government has been enrolling names of children of Myanmar nationals in schools since August.

Mizoram shares a 510-km-long border with Myanmar's Chin state.
