Myanmar junta informer killed in Mandalay’s Madaya Township

The body of an alleged junta informer, Win Myint (aka Zee Win Myint), aged 60, was found near to the Saltawgyi River, west of Yonepin Village, in Mandalay Region’s Madaya Township at around 8:00 a.m. on 17 November.

His body was discovered by villagers from Yonepin close to an embankment on the Saltawgyi River.

A Yonepin villager said: “He was well-known as a military council informant. I knew he would be killed someday because he provided information about people’s defence forces (PDFs) to the regime, his body was discovered near an embankment.”

It is still not known who killed Win Myint and no defence force has released a statement about the killing.

Currently, there are junta troops stationed in Yonepin Village.
