Minister Dr Win Myat Aye announced that at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic is on the rise again, the National Unity Government (NUG) is working hard to help people in need.

Dr. Win Myat Aye, the union minister for the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of NUG, said on his social media page: "People are suffering because of the atrocities committed by the military council, the conflict and the third wave of COVID-19. Efforts are being made to provide community-based disaster response and humanitarian assistance.”

The ministry is said to have tried its best to deliver awareness of the COVID-19 to people and provide relevant equipment.

Dr. Win Myat Aye, under the National League for Democracy (NLD) government, is a former Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and one of several union ministers released after the military coup on 1 February.
