Myanmar resistance group claims junta helicopter shot down in Sagaing’s Homelin

One helicopter of the Myanmar military was shot down by a People’s Defence Force in Homelin, Sagaing Region around 3:45 pm on Friday, according to the Ministry of Defence under the National Unity Government (NUG).

The incident happened near the new cityof Shwe Pyayye in Hommalin Township.

The People's Defense Army (PDF) Khanti District Battalion (1) and allied forces were involved in the attack.

During the battle, about 20 enemy soldiers and Pyu Saw Hti were killed. The PDFs lost two fighters.

The report was issues by the office of the NUG.

PDFs are typically poorly equipped to be able to shoot down helicopters or fighter aircraft.

Sagaing is one are in central Myanmar that has seen heavy fighting, with scorched earth tactics used by the Myanmar junta forces.
