Myanmar soldiers destroy houses in Chin State’s Kanpetlet township

The Kanpetlet Public Administration announced on December 10 that military council troops set fire to houses and belongings in Par Kwin village, Kanpetlet township, Chin State.

Seven houses, two motorcycles and Yam, the main crop in Kanpetlet, were set on fire and property was stolen. The value of damage is estimated to more than 10 million kyat, according to the statement.

Locals said that there were some 500 people in Par Kwin village and most of the people fled the village because of fighting. Only about 100 people are left in the village.

The Chinland Defence Force (CDF Kanpetlet) announced that CDF-Kanpetlet clashed with the junta’s troops on the morning of December 9, killing seven soldiers and wounding six others.

Five clashes took place in Kanpetlet Township within one week, between December 3 and 9, killing 14 soldiers and wounding seven others, according to the statement of the Chin Defense Force (Kanpetlet).
