A recently-formed women’s drone attack unit is claiming success in bombing attacks on Myanmar junta forces in Chaung-U in the war-torn Sagaing.

The TGR Women’s Drone Force based in Myaung Township, Sagaing Region launched four drone attacks against the Military Council troops in Chaung-U Township on 8 September.

The first attack occurred at about 11 am. The TGR Women Drone Force dropped an Inaga bomb or primed M9 rifle grenade attached to a drone onto the Military Council camp in the west of Gwepintaw village, Chaung U Township, Sagaing Region. Twenty junta soldiers are stationed in the camp and the circumstances of the casualties are not yet known, the TGR Women’s Drone Force reports.

The second attack was carried out at about 3 pm. A bomb was dropped junta forces near Natyaykan village, Chaung-U Township, resulting in the death of four soldiers. Some of the injured soldiers were taken to Chaung U Hospital, the unit reports.

They carried out their third attack at around 3 pm and bombed four 12-wheeled military trucks on the Monywa-Mandalay highway road. They also claimed that two trucks were carrying tanks and the others two were carrying copper.

“We dropped the bomb directly on a truck that was carrying the tank. After the attack, we also scouted the military trucks and we saw a big hole in the truck,” said a member of the TGR Women’s Drone Force.

The last attack was at around 4 pm. One military convoy comprised of 21 military trucks carrying army soldiers’ families, food, and supplies was bombed between Gwepintaw and Natyaykan villages.

The TGR Women’s Drone Force was formed two months ago to attack the junta troops with drones. The drone operations are needed to continue to fight against the regime junta forces. TGR Women’s Drone Force is asking people to support them in order to produce more handmade Inaga bombs made from  M9 rifle grenades.
