“At the Mon State conference the New Mon State Party (NMSP), which has signed the NCA ceasefire agreement, will draft a constitution for Mon State which will include the principle of a Federal Union”, said Nai Aung Min, a spokesman for the conference.

“Today at the conference, we discussed the state constitution [which will be used] in a future Federal Union. Then, we discussed the needs of the Mon people, what they need and the demands we will make as we work towards a federal union”, said Aung Min on the 2nd day of the conference The Mon National Conference is being held at the Mon National Education (Central) office, in the NMSP controlled area of Ye Chaung Phya from 2 to 5 May 2022.
