NUG Prime Minister attends defence force’s passing out ceremony

The National Unity Government (NUG) Prime Minister, Mahn Winn Khaing Thann, attended a passing out ceremony for soldiers of the Dawna Column who had completed Military Upgrade Training at the NUG’s Southern Military Region command in Karen State, on 17 January.

During the ceremony, he delivered an address in which he said the NUG is going to implement a one-year strategic plan that is going to supply fighters’ battlefield needs in every NUG military region.

He also said that the ethnic alliance resistance groups and NUG are harmoniously working together and he urged all People’s Defence Force (PDF) soldiers to keep their faith strong and exert more effort to end the dictatorship and eradicate the terrorist Military Council.

Later, Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann handed over weapons to the officials of Dawna Column and gave 1,000,000 kyats to the soldiers from Dawna Column as a reward for successfully completing their training.

He and other officials also gave consecrated water to the military graduates.

Among the officials attending the ceremony were the NUG Deputy Minister of Women, Youth and Children’s Affairs, Daw Ei Thinzar Maung; Colonel Saw Phoenix from Southern Military Region and Major Saw Shar from the NUG’s Southern Military Region.
