Owner and family members of Chinese steamed bun factory test COVID-19 positive

Township Legal Aid Team member Thein Hlaing Tun confirmed the Station House Officer (SHO) who handled Dagon Seikkan Township riot and owner and some family members of a Chinese steamed buns factory tested positive for COVID-19 virus.

In the original incident, a child labour was allegedly beaten in the Chinese Steamed Buns factory in Dagon Seikkan Township on November 19 . The child asked for help from the neighbourhood and the case was registered at Township police station.

Ten child labours found in the factory tested positive, policemen and the SHO also tested positive.

All positive cases have been sent to a COVID centre and all close contacts have also reportedly been sent to quarantine centres.

Moreover two more underage child labours were found in ‘Lotaya’ beer pub, the subsidiary of this ‘Lotaya’ Chinese Steamed Buns factory, on November 23.
