Pathein Myoma Market Development Committee threatens shopkeepers

The Pathein Myoma Market Development Committee in Ayeyarwaddy region has issued a threatening order that it will take action if shops do not open on the day of the Silent Strike on December 10.

In the markets owned by the Pathein Development Committee, shopkeepers are being ordered not to close their shops. Threatening orders are being issued in the markets, stating that the shops will be closed temporarily or indefinitely if it is found that the shops are closed voluntarily.

The military council is reportedly pressuring to open markets and outdoor shops owned by the municipal authority in big cities including Yangon.
