PDF drone attack on Myanmar junta troops prompts ‘release of hostages’

A Myinmu PDF/MMU-PDF official told Mizzima that they bombarded a Military Council force that had taken two hostages from Htisong village in Myinmu Township, Sagaing Region.

MMU-PDF claims that at around 6 pm on 13 October, roughly two miles from Htisong Village, a drone dropped the bombs on the Military Council force, which was comprised of about 30 members.

On the afternoon of 13 October 13, soldiers entered and attacked Htisong village and when they were leaving had taken two hostages. Then the local defense force attacked the military column on Monywa Road with a drone.

“They had taken hostages from Htisong village but after the drone attack, we heard that they released them but I am not sure about it,” an official of MMU-PDF told Mizzima.

“We heard that three junta soldiers died,” he continued.

He also said that the Military Council column is still stationed near the Htisong village.
