Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment of National Unity Government (NUG) has announced that people can now pay their taxes to the NUG online.

The NUG announced in a statement on October 3, 2021, that people who want to pay tax can now pay tax through the the ird.nug-mm.net website

Taxpayers at home and abroad who want to pay taxes must pay their taxes with self-calculation through a secure online platform. After paying the tax, NUG will send taxpayers a Certificate of Identity with a Unique Identification Number (UID) that can only be identified by the taxpayer.

It was stated that taxpayers could claim special tax exemptions by referring to their UID during the establishment of the Federal Democratic Union after the victory of the revolution.

On September 20, 2021, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) enacted the Union Tax Law to enable people to pay their taxes in 2021.

The statement said that revenue generated under the tax law will be used for activities of the health, education and humanitarian aid of people affected by the actions of the military council and the COVID-19 epidemic as a priority.

The tax law exempts trade tax exemption and income tax relief for this year. In previous years, income tax on salaries was exempted from Ks 4.8 million, but the new NUG's tax law exempts it to Ks 12 million.

The statement said the NUG's tax law also repeals the legalization of tax-exempt income as taxable income.

The statement said that the NUG will recognize the taxpayers' sense of responsibility and citizenship during the revolution and will give special priority to the interests of these taxpayers.
