Pa-O National Organization (PNO) says the party will let women candidates contest in the upcoming 2020 General Elections to be held on 8 November this year, according to the PNO Secretary U Khine Thein Pe.

The party was not ready to use women candidates in the 2010 and 2015 general elections, he said.

“If Pa-O ethnic women can join parliament, more women will cooperate in working for the area and the ethnic people. We have arranged one or two women candidates from our party to contest in the elections,” he said.
