Yangon Region Electric Power Corporation made an announcement recently which says that they have to do emergency load shedding in the region as there is the leakage in Zawtika gas pipeline and damage of electric transmission high tension pylons No. 110 and 111 in 132 KV Beluchaung-Tikyit transmission line so that there will be temporary electricity outage in some areas in Yangon Region.

Yangon Region Transport Authority (YRTA) said that under its administration, there were over 3,000 YBS buses which are plying on 116 routes.

The consequence of this frequent and longer time of power outage is longer waiting time for refilling gas at filling stations for Yangon Bus Service (YBS) vehicles and taxis run with the CNG gas and also it caused inconvenience for the passengers who used these services.

The frequent and longer power outage caused long queue of YBS buses at the filling stations and its impact falls on the passengers who use this city commuter service.
