Junta forces arrested and tortured a woman before killing her in Wabyaw Village in Dawei District’s Launglon Township, on 21 June.

Junta soldiers and members of the pro-military Pyu Saw Htee militia raided three houses and abducted a 49-year-old woman in Wabyaw Village on the evening of 21 June, according to an official from the Strike Committee for Democracy Movement (Dawei District).

He said: “The arrested woman was beaten and wounded by the military. She was found dead with stab wounds and a gunshot wounds. The body had been dumped in front of her house.”

The body was dumped by the soldiers at about 1.30 a.m. on 22 June.

A villager said: “Mae Cho and her family lead quiet lives in the village. Every household is terrified as people are being arrested and killed for no reason by the junta.”
