Summary on 01 September

  • The military junta themselves could not follow the USD price they set and just carried out transactions at the market price. Such mismanagement caused a dramatic depreciation of Myanmar Kyat- MMK and a higher demand for USD.
  • Turning a blind eye to the market price, the junta Central Bank has been doing activities just to please Min Aung Hlaing.
  • Although the revolution has become powerful, the public’s support might decrease due to the poor economy. Consequently, revolutionary forces might have to rely more on Myanmar people abroad.
