Spring Revolution Daily News for 1 July 2023 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • U Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, claimed that the producing and trafficking of illegal drugs had increased in Myanmar after the military coup. 
  • Ministry of Human Rights-NUG announced that the junta army had conducted an air attack on Nyaunggone Village at about 3:00 pm on 27 June, causing fatalities. 
  • At 7:00 pm Friday, Ministry of Women, Youth and Children-NUG, Ministry of Federal Affairs-NUG and SFIG organized a round-table discussion themed ‘The future of federal education - the youth’s aspiration’. 
  • In the meeting of the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration, Union Prime Minister called for more unity and effort on the verge of victory. 
  • In Myaung Township of Sagaing Region, there will be basic computer and English courses for the students who have taken the exams by the NUG. 
  • Acting President of the NUG claimed that they had been carrying out activities to push for international justice against the sexual violence of the military junta. 

Revolution Activities 

  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, the junta Pyusawti members wildly shot mortars in Yelegyun Area. Reportedly, a woman was hit with a bullet and lost her life. 
  • In Amarapura Township of Mandalay Region, a monk fell into a well and lost his life on Thursday evening. 
  • In Kawlin, the junta soldiers and police told phone shops and restaurants in town to have CCTV installed. 
  • In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, there have been 7 IDP camps. Reportedly, they have been in need of food and other assistance. 
  • In Mawlight Township, the revolution forces attacked the junta army camp in Taung-In Village. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers including a captain were caught alive. 
  • On Friday morning, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship. 
  • In Kantbalu Township, Pyusawti led by Wathawa in his robes have been recruiting in local villages to a large extent. They also threatened the confiscation of property from the villages which fail to provide new members. 
  • In Yesagyo Township, the junta army shot mortars and conducted a bombing via drone on Nga Thayauk Village. Reportedly, a person lost their life. 
  • In Minhla Township of Bago Region, U Hla Myint, the junta administrator of Nga Hla San Village and U Myint Htay, the secretary of the agricultural bank, were shot. 
  • In Taninthayi Region, Longlone Township PDF called on the public not to visit local waterfalls in case of battles anytime. 
  • In Longlone Township, the LGBT community led a protest against violence and discrimination against them on Thursday afternoon. They also conducted an anti-junta movement. 
  • In Kyankhine Township of Ayeyarwady Region, a rally of the local strike committee protested against the military dictatorship on Thursday afternoon. 
  • In front of Myanmar’s Embassy in Bangkok of Thailand, Myanmar people in black expressed their sentiment as if they were at the funeral of the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations 

  • In Thanglang of Chin State, the junta air force conducted two attacks via fighter jets at about 12:00 pm on 28 June. 
  • According to the leader of Lion Battalion Commando, they would carry out the military operations not only in urban areas but also in regions. He also called for public’s cooperation. 
  • The Chair of Arakan Liberation Party, which signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement, claimed that it was still difficult for a talk inclusive of all EAOs according to the status quo of Myanmar. 
  • In 10 townships of Rakhine State, Arakan Army (AA) conducted events in commemoration of Eid-e-Ghorban. They also gave out donations of money and food to Muslim people in the areas. 

The Military Council 

  • According to the junta propaganda team, the top business men in Myanmar donated money to Marya Wizaya Buddha Image. Reportedly, they included U Maung Wait, who had been released from detention. 
  • According to the junta Aungbale Lottery Department, there would only be the highest prize worth 5,000 lakh MMK despite the increase in sales of tickets due to the online system. 
  • The military junta falsely claimed that the Kachin Independence Army had attacked a convoy of the Chinese Consulate on the way to Myitkyina in the previous week. 
  • In 17 townships of Rakhine State, the junta Forestry Department will plant 390,000 trees in the rainy season. 

Summary on 1 July 2023 

  • The revolution force claimed that there would be military operations both at town and regional levels. Consequently, there might be the invasive attacks on the headquarters of the junta armed forces. 
  • In Sagaing, Karenni, Chin, Kayin, Mon, Taninthayi and Magwe, the revolution has been in great momentum.
