The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On 27 April, there was an online meeting between Mr. Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary General of the United Nations and Vice-Chair of the Elders, and U Moe Zaw Oo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs- NUG. According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs- NUG on Sunday, they called for more pressure and sanctions on the military junta.
  • In Karenni State, the junta army has been conducting airstrikes. Therefore, Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, a Minister of the NUG, called for public participation in the .5 Project for aircraft launchers. He also claimed that the liberation of Karenni State is the liberation of the whole nation.
  • According to the End of Dictatorship, the sale of Spring Inya Condo made over 6 million USD within 12 hours of its opening.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Sagaing Region, a rally of Yinmabin North marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • On Sunday, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Khin-U Township, the junta army raided Alesho Village again at about 9:00 pm Sunday and set fire to the whole village for the second time.
  • In Khin-U Township under martial law, about 500 houses from 3 local villages were burnt within a week.
  • In Hommalin Township, a combined force of PDFs attacked and took control of 4 junta police camps at the same time on Saturday morning.
  • In Monywa, there were attacks on the junta armed forces at about 6:00 pm Saturday. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died.
  • In Sagaing Township, there were bomb attacks via drone on the junta armed forces at about 3:00 pm Saturday.
  • In Shwebo Township, the S&C provided food to over 2,000 IDPs from 5 local villages.
  • In Banmauk Township, two non-CDM education staff were released by a local PDF on 26 April.
  • For the victims of the junta air attacks throughout the country including Kantbalu, there has been a campaign named ‘Kantbalu Debt’. Reportedly, it got about 5,333 lakh MMK within 14 days.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township of Mandalay Region, there were mine attacks on a military car on its way to Tagaung on Saturday afternoon. Reportedly, 15 junta soldiers died.
  • In Myingyan, PDFs attacked the junta army stationed in Shwe Nyaungbin Monastery on Saturday. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers including an officer died.
  • In Magwe of Magwe Region, Than Than Hsint, the wife of a junta policeman, was shot dead at about 5:30 pm on Saturday.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, Min Wah, a member of the Pyusawti in Pyinsathimaw Village, was shot dead at about 11:00 am Saturday.
  • In Myeik District, the road sections used for border trade were blocked off due to local battles. Reportedly, they were reopened on Saturday.
  • According to the Yangon Revolution Force, Ko Banyar Soe Htet aged 26, who had been arrested for assassinating a responsible person of the junta MyTel, was sentenced to 84 years in prison.
  • At about 12:00 pm Saturday, there was an attack on the junta army taking security measures on the Yangon to Mawlamyein Road. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died.
  • In Beelin Township of Mon State, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta gate near Thabyayni Village at 6:20 pm Saturday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • In Dimawso Township of Karenni State, the Rural Land and Karenni Youth provided food and drinks to the victims of the junta’s aerial attacks.
  • In Namkam, Muse and Kutkhine Area of Shan North, Muse Strategy warned on Saturday that all militias are not to cooperate in any matters related to the military junta and they are just to take part in public’s services.
  • In Usan of South Korea, a combined rally of Korean and Myanmar people protested against Myanmar’s military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In the Czech Republic, young activists led a movement themed ‘Shedding Light on Untold Stories of Burma’ near the junta Myanmar Embassy on 28 April.
  • In Maryland of the United States, there was a fund-raising event for the Spring Revolution.
  • In New York City of the US, the NYCBC got funds worth over 30,000 USD in the fund-raising event on Saturday.
  • On Saturday, there was a march against Myanmar’s military dictatorship in front of San Francisco City Hall in the US.
  • Afry, Swedish engineering company, has been working on controversial hydro-power projects for more than two decades. They announced that they were about to leave the country. Regarding it, 5 local and international human rights organizations released a joint statement welcoming the decision.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Beelin Township of Mon State, there were local battles between the junta armed forces and a combined force of the KNLA on Saturday morning.
  • According to Chin National Front, the junta army conducted 40 airstrikes on Chin State in April, killing 14 people.
  • In a mine accident, 2 members of CDF Kanpetlet lost their lives and 3 others were seriously injured.
  • In Myauksalone battles on the border of Shan and Karenni from 20 to 26 April, the KNDF conducted 35 drone operations.

The Military Council

  • On Saturday morning, the junta leader paid respect to Bamaw Sayardaw receiving medical treatment at Mandalay General Hospital.
  • On Saturday afternoon, the junta leader inspected the upgraded runway at Tachileik Airport.
  • In a meeting on Saturday, the junta Minister of Home Affairs stated that a project is to be drawn up and implemented for the completion of criminal cases up to July 2023.
  • The Myanmar junta Ambassador to China presented his credential to the President of China.
  • According to the junta Yangon Regional Investment Committee, they allowed a local investment and a foreign one which would create 163 job opportunities.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Health at 8:00 pm Saturday, 130 more people tested COVID-19 positive.
  • In local battles on the border of Shan and Karenni from 24 to 27 April, the military junta had great losses including officers.
  • After the videos on Sex Chat of a woman with junta soldiers and officers went viral on Telegram, the junta army has been after the account owner.

Summary on 1 May

  • There was a meeting between the NUG and the former Secretary General of the UN. Reportedly, they discussed issues of more pressure and sanctions on the military junta. Consequently, the military dictators might have to face more international pressure.
  • To support the revolution, there have been fund-raising events, not only locally but also internationally.
