The National Unity Government (NUG)
- On the 76th Mon Revolution Day, the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) sent a statement with a political pledge that they will face any challenges together with the revolutionary forces and they will carry out their duty well.
- The CRPH issued a statement of honor to the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, especially the host country Indonesia for successfully conducting the 44th AIPA Conference, which made 30 decisions including the cooperation among parliaments for Myanmar to gain eternal peace.
- In an interview with PVTV, the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Defence- NUG claimed that the motto ‘Let’s join the army to protect Myanmar’ no longer exists and now is a time when the public has a strong aversion to the military.
- On Wednesday afternoon, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration- NUG and Township People’s Administration from Mandalay Region and Magwe Region.
- In cooperation with the Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management- NUG, the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment- NUG conducted a campaign to support the revolutionary forces upcountry.
- In Sagaing Region, the Kalay People’s Police Force announced on Thursday that it had arrested two non-CDM teachers and they would take legal action against them.
Revolutionary Activities
- In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, a rally of villagers protested against the Wan Bao Mining Company on Thursday morning.
- In Kani Township, CDM doctors and local people provided healthcare services to 82 displaced people from Kani Township.
- In Kantbalu Township, junta soldiers and Pyusawti members invaded the area again on Wednesday night. Reportedly, local people from over 20 villages in Htangone and Zeegone had to run away.
- On Thursday, Butalin Township Students’ Union conducted an event to salute those who had lost their lives in the revolution.
- In Yinmabin Township, there was an attack on a junta troop near Inphyar Village on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, 7 junta soldiers died and weapons were confiscated.
- In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, Tun Tun, a junta soldier on medical leaf, was shot dead in Thityone Village at 10:30 am Wednesday.
- In Htilin Township of Magwe Region, there was an attack via a variety of mines on a junta troop in the south of Kyarke Village on the morning of 28 August. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died and so did a hostage who had been arrested as their guide.
- On the border of Oatdwin Township and Tandabin Township in Bago Region, the junta army opened fire indefinitely on Myosoe Village at about 4:00 am Thursday. Reportedly, two people lost their lives.
- In Karenni Township, the junta army conducted aerial bombings on the western part of Demoso Township where displaced people have been staying.
- According to revolutionary forces, over 70 junta soldiers died in local battles on the Demoso-Fruso Road within a month and a large number of weapons were confiscated.
- In Nyaungshwe Township of Shan State, the junta army arrested two local women from the Inle Area and their families on the night of 28 August.
- According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), 4,017 people have lost their lives due to the junta armed forces after the military coup up to 30 August.
Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)
- In Muse Township and Kutkhine Township of Northern Shan State, there were heavy battles between the junta armed forces and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army on Wednesday.
- In Hpapun District of Kayin State, there was an attack on the junta armed forces on the morning of 28 August. According to the Karen National Union, 3 junta soldiers died.
- On Tuesday, the Chin National Army completed military training to counter-attack the junta army.
- The Arakan Army provided special military training to the Students’ Army and completed it on Wednesday.
- According to Danu People’s Liberation Force, the public in Ywar Ngan Township and Pindaya Township has complained to them that they have been faced with the bullying of non-CDM staff.
- On Wednesday, CDF Paletwa announced that it had completed the refreshers’ course Batch (2) for the rainy season.
The Military Council
- In a government meeting on Wednesday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing stated that it is necessary for respective ministries to oversee the INGOs and NGOs so that they can work in accordance with the rules and regulations.
- According to the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun, it was just a rumor that the Chair of Myanmar’s Oil Association and some oil dealers had been arrested for interrogation.
- According to sources from the junta Central Bank, 20,000-MMK bank notes were included in the payment of staff salaries on Thursday and such kinds of payments would soon be used for the government’s projects.
- On Thursday, there was a meeting for the second day between the junta peace team and 5 signatories of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA). Reportedly, they discussed promoting the leadership of the EAOs in their respective areas.
- On Wednesday, the junta Minister of Economics and Commerce claimed that it would decrease the price of the edible oil within a few days.
- According to the junta Union Election Commission, the Mon Development Party applied for registration in accordance with Section (3) of the Political Parties Registration Law.
- Yangon Regional Investment Commission announced that it had approved 12 investments in the industrial sector.
- According to the junta Yangon City Development Committee, they issued 70 permits for buildings and Building Completion Certificates to 28 buildings within a week.
- The military junta announced that the TNLA opened fire in Namfatkar Village in Kutkhine Township in Northern Shan State, killing a person and injuring 3 others.
- According to the junta Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Myanmar workers in Malaysia must get online appointments to renes their passports starting on 1 September.
