The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to the NUG Ministry of Defence, public donations of 7.8 million USD were used for PDF regiments and due to the recommendation of the PRF, 1.6 million USD was directly sent to the PDFs, LDFs and weapon production.
  • In Gangaw Township in Magway Region, the Local Education Board announced that the NUG Ministry of Education had supported over 300 lakh MMK to the interim basic education schools.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Kyankhin Township in Ayeyarwady Region, there was a bomb explosion in the house compound of the junta township administrator in Ywathit Ward at about 7:00 pm on Saturday.
  • To support the frontline battlefields in the east of the country, there has been a funding-raising project since April.
  • In Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region, there was fighting between the junta army and PDF near Yonetoe Mountain. Reportedly, 14 junta soldiers died whereas Natoegyi PDF lost two members.
  • The junta police, soldiers and plain clothes personnel destroyed the Taungthar Township NLD Office.
  • In Myingyan Township, there was fighting at the foot of Mount Minsone. Besides, there was a mine attack on the junta supporting troop. Reportedly, 14 junta soldiers died and the PDF lost two members.
  • Revolutionary forces warned the public not to go to the junta pandals (Tingyan stages) as the junta army might carry out false flag attacks on the junta pandals claiming that the attacks were carried out by defence forces.
  • In Taninthayi Township of Taninthayi Region, there has been constant fighting in the area. Consequently, the number of IDPs has reached up to over 10,000.
  • In Taninthayi Township, there was a guerrilla attack on a military car near Letaungyar Village. Reportedly, there might have been casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Paungty Township in Bago Region, the PDF blew up a sound mine at about 5:00 am on Sunday to give a warning about the construction of a junta pandal.
  • The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warned that more and more people in Myanmar have had to flee their homes due to the military coup and ongoing conflicts.
  • In Shwebo Township in Sagaing Region, there was an attack via a variety mines on Pyu Saw Htee members. Reportedly, three of them died.
  • In Dibeyin Township, the S&C provided rice and oil to IDPs from four villages.
  • In Sagaing Township in Sagaing Region and Madayar Township in Mandalay Region, the junta armed forces have been invading local villages and made shooting from helicopters for no apparent reason. Consequently, thousands of local residents have had to run away.
  • On Sunday, a rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Yangon Region, the Dark Shadow- UG conducted an explosion with remote mines at two pandals of the military junta in the People’s Square.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Chin State, two military junta trucks were damaged in an attack by the CNF between Hakha and Falam. Reportedly, they were confiscated by the revolutionary forces.
  • In the east of Demoso in Karenni State, over 10 junta soldiers died and weapons were confiscated during two days of heavy fighting.
  • In Kyaikto Township, Thaton Township and Beelin Township under Karen National Union Brigade (1), there were attacks on the camps of the junta army and Border Guard Force (BGF). Reportedly, two junta officers died and many other members were injured.
  • On Friday, the Cobra Column released photos of the trucks carrying the BGF members who had died in fighting in Shwe Kokko in Karen State. According to the photos, those who had been washing the dead bodies were tied with chains around their ankles.
  • In Hmyauksalone Village between Pekone Township and Pin Laung Township, there has been heavy fighting between the junta army and Karenni combined forces.

The Military Council

  • In Taninthayi, Dawei and Boatpyin of Taninthayi Region, the military junta arrested six local men, accusing them of having contact with the PDFs. Reportedly, they also charged them under the anti-terrorism law.
  • The junta propaganda team announced that it had arrested people who were planning to conduct explosions at the floating Thingyan at Inlay.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing stated that the junta has been planning to include the subject of water resource management at agricultural training schools.
  • The junta Ancient Research Department (Bagan) announced that the images of Bagan pagodas are not to be sold. They also banned tattoos of Buddhist images on people’s bodies and said there would be legal action against both the tattoo artists and customers who fail to follow the rules.

Summary on 10 April

  • The revolutionary forces announced that they would fire projectiles at the junta Tingyan celebrations. Afterwards, junta propaganda media released the news that it had arrested those who were planning the explosions. Consequently, the military junta themselves might carry out the explosion whilst pretending to be urban guerrillas. Therefore, the public should be cautious during Thingyan.
  • In Sagaing and Magway regions and Chin, Karenni and Kayin states, there has been heavy fighting. The junta army has suffered great losses whereas the PDFs lost some members.
