Spring Revolution Daily News for 10 June 2023 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • On Wednesday, there was a meeting between the Union Minister of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management-NUG, the Director of ASEAN Affairs and the Central Department for Conflict Resolution and Support under the European Foreign Ministry. 
  • Ministry of Human Rights-NUG issued a statement of sorrow for the murder of U Than Myint (alias) Sayedul Anwar, the elder brother of U Aung Kyaw Moe; a consultant of the Ministry. 
  • In commemoration of the two-year anniversary of Ministry of Electricity and Energy-NUG, there will be a meeting with the CDM staff via Zoom at 6:00 pm Saturday. 
  • At 3:00 pm Thursday, there was a meeting (20/2023) between the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG and the District Public’s Administration. 
  • In Kyaukgyi Township of Bago Region, the junta army has not picked up the bodies of over 60 junta soldiers who lost their lives in the Natthangwin Battle. 
  • In a meeting of the United Nations, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun claimed that the military junta has been cutting off humanitarian assistance to the victims of Cyclone Mocha via a four-blockage strategy. 

Revolution Activities 

  • In Myingyan of Mandalay Region, more than 80 political prisoners have been beaten and kept in solitary confinement. Reportedly, they have not gained access to medical treatment or parcel delivery. 
  • In Kantbalu District of Sagaing Region, two displaced men have been bitten by snakes from 1 to 8 June. 
  • In Pale Township, local people from 5 villages have had to run away due to the invasion of the junta armed forces. 
  • In Myinmu Township, the PDF attacked the police station in Tawchaung Village. Reportedly, 9 junta soldiers and policemen, including the Chief of the Station, died. 
  • In Yinmabin Township, there was a battle near Lengaught Village. Reportedly, a large number of junta soldiers were injured. 
  • In Yinmabin Township, a rally of Youth Strength marched against the military dictatorship on Friday. 
  • In Dibeyin Township, the S&C donated tarpaulin to the displaced people. 
  • In Khin-U Township, more than 2500 people had to run away in the monsoon season due to the invasion of the junta armed forces. 
  • In Salingyi Township, a rally of strike committees and local people marched for the end of the military dictatorship. 
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, mortars fell and exploded in Hnit Kayin Village, killing a woman and damaging two houses. 
  • According to the rescue teams, it has been a matter of deep concern for the storm victims as the military junta has banned the travel of all international assistance organizations and civil society organizations in Rakhine State. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations 

  • On Thursday, Chin National Front announced that they have banned external visitors, apart from Chin nationals, entering Chin State. 

The Military Council 

  • The military junta has stopped the travel and assistance of local and international organizations starting on 8 June. 
  • According to the Navy Chief of Indonesia, the armies of the ASEAN members including Myanmar might take part in the military exercise at Natuna Sea in Indonesia. 
  • The junta Exam Department announced that people are to check only their website since there have been faked matriculation exam results elsewhere. 
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that the military had planted over 2,100,000 trees over the period of more than a decade. 
  • The Archaeological Department (Bagan) stated that they had repaired Bu Pagoda, which had been struck by lightening, in accordance with the suggestion of Indian experts. 
  • According to the meeting of National Disaster Risks Management Committee, nearly 500 healthcare facilities were damaged in Rakhine State due to Cyclone Mocha. So far, only 40% of them has been repaired so far. 

Summary on 10 June 

  • The military junta themselves have not been able to carry out the rescue and rehabilitation for the storm victims. In such a situation, they have restricted the aid of local and international organizations for no apparent reason. Consequently, the victims might have to face food shortage and other social security risks.
