The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG informed the public that according to the International Meteorology Agency, a small storm could turn into a cyclone during the week. They added that they have been watching it constantly and they would inform of the changes in a timely manner.
  • The NUG stated that they have been cooperating with focal persons on the ground to send the storm news constantly to the IDPs and the revolutionary forces so that they could make necessary preparations.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs- NUG announced that they strongly condemned the attack on a diplomat convoy in Taunggyi on 7 May and they would not turn a blind eye to such incidents.
  • On Monday, a special session of the Union Parliament was conducted. Reportedly, all the representatives agreed to a call for the international community to take effective action against the military junta.
  • At 3:00 pm Monday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration- NUG and Township People’s Administration from Sagaing Region.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Kyauk Myaung of Sagaing Region, local PDFs attacked the junta army three times on the road. Reportedly, there might have been casualties among junta soldiers.
  • There were two mine attacks on the junta army on their way back after destroying the Monywa-Amyint Road. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died and a military car was damaged.
  • On Tuesday morning, a combined rally of local villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin called on Chinese Government not to have relations with the military junta.
  • In Monywa, there was an attack on the junta army stationed in the junta immigration office. Reportedly, a junta member died and another one got injured.
  • In Salingyi Township, the junta army set fire to 12 houses at Tandaw jetty in Nyaungbingyi Village Tract at about 3:00 pm Monday.
  • In memory of Poet Khatthi who died two years ago, Pale Township General Strike and local people conducted an anti-junta movement on Tuesday.
  • In Wetlet Township, a combined rally of local strike committees and basic education students’ union protested against the military dictatorship in a village on Tuesday.
  • In Boatpyin Township of Taninthayi Region, a combined force of PDFs attacked a junta inspection gate at 7:30 pm Monday. Reportedly, there were exchanges of fire.
  • In Longlone Township, Dawei Democratic Movement Strike Committee led an anti-junta movement on Tuesday.
  • In Gyobinkauk Township of Bago Region, the junta army destroyed a place where a nun had been giving medical treatment in the monastery compound in Dantthalun Village on Sunday morning.
  • In Yetashay Township, two junta people were shot dead. Reportedly, they had joined hands with the junta soldiers when burning Kyaukpone Village.
  • In Tilin Township of Magwe Region, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta army at the junta administration office. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township of Mandalay Region, there was a mine attack on a junta troop on their way back after burning local villages. Reportedly, over 20 junta soldiers died.
  • In Ngazun Township, there was a bomb attack via drone on Myotha Police Station. Reportedly, 5 junta policemen died.
  • At about 10:00 pm Monday, there were bomb explosions in front of the house belonging to former Mandalay Regional Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Mg and in the compound of the house belonging to his sister-in-law.
  • In Natoegyi Township, local guerrilla force attacked with mortars the control station of a Chinese gas pipeline at 8:00 pm Sunday.
  • In Ayeyarwady Region, a rally of Kyankhine Township General Strike conducted a protest against the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Dimawso Township of Karenni State, Rural Land supplied basic food items to the IDPs on Monday evening.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Duplaya District under Karen National Union Brigade (6), 107 junta soldiers including officers died in local battles in April.
  • In Chin State, the junta army dropped a total of 121 bombs in March and April. According to the Chin National Front, 24 people including two CNF members lost their lives and 33 others were injured.
  • In Hakha Township, the junta army conducted an air attack via fighter jet on Kwarpee Village on Monday evening. According to a spokesperson of the Chin National Army, there were casualties among the civilians and their members.
  • In Sisai Township in Shan South, there was an attack on a convoy of ASEAN diplomats on the way to the communication office of the Pa-O National Liberation Organization. Citing the patron of the PNLO, the People’s Spring said that the PDF had not conducted it.

The Military Council

  • The junta Ministry of Trade and Commerce issued the list of non-export goods on 17 August last year. On 4 May, they changed the terms of an item; diamonds which are not made into jewels in the place of diamonds.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they have been exploring possible water sources in Nay Pyi Taw Territory.
  • There has been a call for Expression of Interest for Direct to Home free to air of Myanmar Radio and Television under the junta Ministry of Information.
  • In Pathein in Ayeyarwady Region, the junta regional government conducted a religious ritual at Shwe Moattaw Stupa and Mawtinsun Sea in order to prevent the storm on Monday.
