The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On the 23rd Kayan National Day, the NUG sent a statement recognising the sacrifices and effort of Kayan people in the fight to build a federal democratic union with equality for all.
  • On the 14th anniversary of the founding of Arakan Army (AA), Acting President of the NUG sent a congratulatory statement.
  • The revolution forces all over the country, including Ministry of Defence- NUG, sent congratulatory statements to the 14th anniversary of the AA. They also pledged that they would join hands with the AA in the fight against the military dictatorship.
  • At 10:00 am Sunday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and Township Public Administration Teams from Taninthayi Region, Ayeyarwady Region and Bago Region.
  • At 1:00 pm on 8 April, there was a meeting between the Education Committee under Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and Township Education Boards under Committee Representing Bago Hluttaw.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces have carried out air strikes on the neighborhood of Talaing Village and Oatpho Village. Consequently, thousands of local people have had to run away.
  • According to Salingyi Special Task Force, five of their members managed to produce FGC 9 3d printed guns.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a rally of Shwe Nwe Thwe marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Dibeyin Township, the S&C organized a paying obeisance ceremony along with a Dhama talk for the senior citizens aged over 70 who have had to flee their homes due to battles.
  • In Khin-U Township, a rally of youth, students and local people marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Kayan Township of Yangon Region, local PDF attacked with mortars the police station in Painkan Village.
  • Mayangone Township Students’ Association and East Dagon Students’ Association placed a banner for the revolution Thingyan in front of No. (13) affiliated school on Monday.
  • On Monday, Mayangone Democratic Front and local people conducted a campaign for the revolution Thingyan.
  • In Yangon, a combined group of youth from Zorro and Revolution Photographs carried out a movement themed- ‘The revolution is not a festival’. They also called on the public not to take part in the junta’s Thingyan.
  • In Taninthayi Township of Taninthayi Region, there were exchanges of fire between the PDF and the junta army invading the area on Sunday. Due to the mortars shot by the junta soldiers, some buildings, including houses and a church, were damaged.
  • In Thayetchaung Township, there was a gunfire in the junta police station on Sunday afternoon. Reportedly, the chief officer Nay Min Soe died.
  • In Longlone Township, Dawei District Democratic Committee conducted anti-junta public movements at 3 local markets.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township of Mandalay Region, there was a battle near Nyaunggone Village, killing more than 10 junta soldiers. In response, the junta army with a great loss set fire to public’s houses.
  • In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, the junta army burnt nearly 50 houses from Nyaungoat Village and Ima Western Village. They also shot dead a mentally-ill man.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • On the 14th anniversary of the founding of the United League of Arakan (ULA/AA), the PSLF/TNLA and the MNTJP/MNDAA sent statements, claiming that they will join hands with anti-junta organizations to fight the military dictatorship.
  • In Falam Township of Chin State, the junta army conducted an air strike via fighter jet on Waibula Village on Monday morning. According to Chin National Defence Force, 6 people, including a couple of school headmasters, lost their lives.
  • On the 56th anniversary of the founding of Arakan Liberation Party, they stated that they are ready to join hands with any Rakhine armed organizations for the liberation of Rakhine people and the victory of the revolution.
  • Regarding the murder of 3 residents of Mizoram State in India, the perpetrators were arrested, according to CDF Mindat on Sunday.
  • On Sunday, the Cobra Column and the Venom Column formed a partnership.
  • According to pro-military people, the 3 members of Lion Battalion, who had been arrested in Mae Sot of Thailand, were sent to Mawlamyein Prison on Sunday.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta Ministry of Information, Fashion Award will be included in the 2023 Myanmar’s Motion Picture Academy Ceremony.
  • The junta propaganda team announced that 17 people had been caught dead together with weapons in their fight against the smugglers in Shweku Township of Kachin State.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing set a stone pillar at the meeting point of the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bangel on the Coco Island.
  • The junta EV Committee announced that the tax exemption on special goods will be available for electric vehicles until the end of March 2024.
  • In the 2023-24 Union Budget, over 5,600 billion MMK was allocated for the junta Ministry of Defence and it was nearly 2000 billion MMK more than that of the previous fiscal year.

Summary on 11 April

  • After the coup, the military generals have been abusing the national budget to their advantage. They allocated the most budget to the Army and compared to it, the budgets of public services such as health and education were very low.
  • At the time of the international media featuring the news about Chinese military base on Coco Island, the junta leader went there and placed a stone pillar. It shows that China is backing the junta and they do not care about international pressure to stop human rights violations and war crimes.
