The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to the military headquarters under the Ministry of Defence- NUG, Yoma PDF Force conducted a drone attack with 60mm grenades on the police station in Phyuu Township of Bago Region at 9:30 am Tuesday.
  • In the eastern part of Nattalin Township, there was a mine attack on the junta army invading the upper part of Taungnyo Dam toward the camp in Kyetmanet Village. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died.
  • In the statement to the 48th Kachin Martyrs’ Day, Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) pledged that they, with the collective strength of the revolutionary forces, would put an end to the military dictatorship and build a federal democratic union.
  • At 2:00 pm Wednesday, the NUG organized a meeting with strike committees, PDFs, people’s administration and people’s security forces. Reportedly, they had discussions about the financial battle.
  • On the 75th Karenni National Revolution Day, it was mentioned that all the revolutionary forces in Karenni State would join hands for the public’s victory in the Spring Revolution.
  • The Union Minister of Defence- NUG called on the trainees of PDF Commanders Batch (2) to put pressure on suffocating the junta army until it stops breathing.

Revolutionary Activities

  • On Wednesday, the revolutionary forces called on the public to take part in the campaign that would decrease 70% of junta army product sales within two months.
  • On Wednesday, the South Korean Government stated that despite the invitation of a junta ambassador to a weapons show, they still prohibited the sale of arms to Myanmar.
  • In Sagaing Region, an alliance of PDFs attacked the junta army gate demanding money from the public at the entrance to the town of Dibeyin.
  • In Kani Township, local defence forces conducted a guerrilla attack on the junta vessels streaming up the Chindwin River. Reportedly, one of the vessels was damaged.
  • In Salingyi Township, Anyar Pyittietaunglay Myar provided vermicelli soup to displaced people.
  • In Yinmabin Township, there were bomb attacks via drone on junta soldiers secretly extracting timber secretly.
  • In Aungmye Thazan Township of Mandalay Region, there was a grenade attack on the junta traffic police quarters for the second time on Wednesday morning.
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, there was gunfire in Asin Village at about 8:00 am Wednesday. Reportedly, a junta administration member and a civilian lost lives on the spot. In addition, another person died on arrival at hospital.
  • In Yebyu Township of Taninthayi Region, 5 local men from Teingyi Village of Nabule Area were arrested. Reportedly, they have not been released yet.
  • In Kyaukdagar Township of Bago Region, over 30 junta soldiers died in the battle in Thamin Ingone Village on Wednesday. Reportedly, the dead bodies were not collected until the morning of Thursday.
  • In Nattalin Township, there was a mine attack on a junta troop. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died.
  • According to Taungnyo Column, women comrades were among the PDFs carrying out inspections on the Mawlamyein-Yay-Dawei Union Road (8).

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

  • In Kyaukdagar Township of Bago Region, there was a battle between the junta army and a special combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) + PDFs in Thamin Ingone Village. Reportedly, over 30 junta soldiers died and many weapons were confiscated.
  • The Secretary General of the Karen National Union claimed that the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) was dissolved due the military coup and thus, there was no reason for the KNU to follow the NCA.
  • In Namkam Township of Shan State, a landslide occurred in 14 local villages. According to the TNLA, a child aged 2 lost their life and there was damage worth of 800 lakh MMK.

The Military Council

  • The junta Consul Han Win Naing based in Hong Kong received Mr. Parson Lam, who would serve as a supervising director at Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office based in Bangkok of Thailand on Thursday morning.
  • The junta Ministry of Labor discussed that all Myanmar workers abroad must transfer 25% of their income at the legal currency exchange rate. Afterwards, the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok set up an official transfer service for Myanmar workers in Thailand.
  • Starting on 1 September, the United Overseas Bank (UOB), a major bank in Singapore, will cut connections with Myanmar banks.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing stated that all the junta state and regional chief ministers must make an effort to promote the national economy.

Summary on 11 August

  • The junta leader told his appointed chief ministers from states and regions to work hard for the country’s economy. After that, the value of the Myanmar kyat fell sharply and gold prices rose.
  • Due to financial hardships caused by junta restrictions, the military junta tried various ways to get income from Myanmar workers abroad. Finally, they even ended up opening a money exchange counter at the embassy.
