The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Four soldiers from the junta army joined the public and they were welcomed by U Maung Maung Swe, the Second Secretary of the Ministry of Defence- NUG and a focal person of the People’s Embrace Committee.
  • During his working trip to Australia, Minister of Human Rights- NUG U Aung Myo Min met with the responsible personnel of the Australian Government on Tuesday.
  • Through video conferencing, the Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management- NUG and the responsible personnel of the regions discussed preventive measures against the cyclone and its consequences.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Hmawbi Township of Yangon Region, the JUGF and the DSRB conducted an explosion at Thandaybin Tollbooth on the morning of 4 May.
  • According to lawyer sources, over 500 prisoners were transferred from Yangon’s Insein Prison to Bago Thayarwaddy Prison on Tuesday.
  • In Hlaingthaya Township, the junta armed forces have been confiscating motorbikes in Ward (20).
  • In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, there was a bomb attack via drone on 3 junta cars making inspections on the Myingyan-Natoegyi Road.
  • The Foreign Minister of Singapore stated that there should be continuous pressure on the military junta to stop violence in Myanmar and implement the ASEAN 5-Point Consensus quickly and fully.
  • On Wednesday, the ASEAN leaders denounced the attack on a convoy on the way to provide assistance to the displaced people in Myanmar. They also called for the end of violence in the country and for the military junta to follow the peace process.
  • According to Human Rights Watch, the junta army used Thermobaric Munitions in their air attack on Pazigyi Village in Kantbalu Township of Sagaing Region.
  • In Ye-U Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing via fighter jet on a public school in Tandaw Bawdi Village.
  • In Shwebo Township, the PDFs attacked the junta camp in Zee Phyu Gone Village. Reportedly, no less than 20 junta soldiers and Pyusawti members died.
  • In Shwebo District, the S&C donated rice and edible oil to the IDPs.
  • In Taze Township, there were mine attacks on the junta army on their way to a mine clearance operation. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • In Kalay Township, Chin Land Defence Force- Siyin warned the local residents living near Kalay University and Khinekan Police Station to move out before 10:00 am Wednesday.
  • In Salin Township of Magwe Region, the PDF attacked the junta police station in Thayettaw Village.
  • In Dawei Township of Taninthayi Region, Dawei Collicative Column conducted a mine attack on a troop of over 100 junta soldiers somewhere on the Dawei-Tikhi Road. Reportedly, the two civilians, arrested by the junta army as human shields, got injured in the incident.
  • In Hpakant of Kachin State, there was a mine attack on the junta army in Ayemya Thayar Ward on Tuesday evening. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • In Ayeyarwady Region, a rally of Kyankhine Township Strike Committee led an anti-junta protest on Tuesday evening.
  • According to prisoner sources, the political prisoners from a prison in lower Myanmar sent their rations to revolutionary forces.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Pin Laung Township of Shan South, Karenni National Defence Force lost a special commando member from Brigade (8) and two members from Brigade (11) in the local battle in Taungsalone Village.

The Military Council

  • The military junta offered a financial reward up to 75 lakh MMK depending on the types of weapons they have if the PDF members defect to them.
  • According to the junta propaganda media, U Thet Win, the junta chargé d'affaires from Myanmar Embassy, joined a working lunch at Cambodian Embassy in Washington on 8 May.
  • On Monday evening, the junta Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs transferred packets of instant noodles, donated by Myanmar workers in Thailand, to the junta Minister of Social Welfare.
  • The junta Peace Committee stated that the Karen National Union- (KNU) has been against the provisions contained in the National Ceasefire Agreement and heading toward confrontation.
  • The military junta announced that holders of illegal weapons have to apply for licenses.

Summary on 11 May

  • People from all walks of life have been against the military junta due to the coup. With the misconception that they are doing it for financial reasons, the military junta has tried to offer financial incentives to people who defect and join them.
  • The ASEAN meeting called on the military junta to implement the Consensus quickly. Consequently, there might be more international pressure.
