The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The acting President of the NUG offered his sincere condolence to the families of the victims from Pazigyi Village in Kantbalu Township in Sagaing Region. He added that the military junta has shown their true colours again by committing another inhumane war crime.
  • The acting President of the NUG stated that it is necessary to take great caution as the military junta might carry out violent activities during Thingyan and blame the revolutionary forces.
  • The NUG stated that they have been making an effort 24/7 to completely stop the junta’s inhumane activities in the very near future.
  • In Pazigyi Village in Kantbalu Township in Sagaing Region, over 100 people died in a junta air strike. Regarding the case, the Ministry of Defence- NUG claimed that it was a war crime of Myanmar’s junta army and the NUG would try to remove the military dictatorship from the land of the country.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Falam Township in Chin State, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on a place in Waybula, where the tents were being set up for a Summer Camp on Monday. Consequently, nine people lost lives, four others were injured and two of them were seriously hurt.
  • In Kantbalu Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army made an air strike on Pazigyi Village where an event was being held. Consequently, there were a large number of casualties among local people.
  • In Sagaing Township, there was a bomb attack via drone on Pyusawti Militia in Kwelpone Village. Reportedly, there might have been casualties in the incident.
  • In Taze Township and Khin-U Township, the junta armed forces have been invading local villages. Consequently, most of the local residents have had to run away and some others have been trapped. Reportedly, the junta army set fire to Chaungyoe Village on Tuesday morning.
  • The US Foreign Minister stated that they would keep their support for democracy activists, those who have been seeking ways to stop the crisis and those who have been making an effort for building a democratic nation with all-inclusiveness.
  • On Monday, human rights activists and a political party in Thailand expressed their concerns about sending back the arrested PDF members to Myanmar as those people are at risk of being tortured and murdered.
  • In Mandalay, the Deputy Director of the Regional Court and a housemaid were killed on Tuesday morning. Besides, their house was burnt down.
  • On Tuesday, a combined rally of Aungmye Thazan Schools protested against the junta’s Thingyan.
  • The National League for Democracy (NLD) released a statement that the junta’s air strike in Pazigyi Village was a case of genocide. They also called on the international community to stop such inhumane activities of the military junta.
  • In Dimawso Township of Karenni State, the Rural Land provided IDPs with meat curries and traditional ones on Tuesday.
  • In Kyauktu Township of Magwe Region, there were battles between the junta armed forces and local PDFs during the first week of April. Reportedly, 15 junta soldiers died.
  • In Yesagyo Township, there was an attack on the junta soldiers on their way to demand money. Reportedly, one of them died.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, Dawei District Democracy Committee conducted anti-junta public talks on Tuesday.
  • In Ayeyarwady Region, Kyankhin Township General Strike protested against the junta’s Thingyan.
  • In Thaketa Township of Yangon Region, there was a banner saying ‘We don’t enjoy the junta’s Thingyan’ in front of the city hall.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In the west of Dimawso Township in Karenni State, some IDP camps have run out of dry rations and rice for nearly two months.
  • In Matupi Township in Chin State, Local CDFs announced on Monday that they have lost 24 comrades on their two-year anniversary.
  • In Pha-Ang District under Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (7) and Phapun District under Brigade (5), a local resident was killed by junta mortar fire and another was injured.
  • In Falam Township, the Chin National Defence Force released a video in which they attacked and took control of a base camp of the military junta.
  • In Falam Township, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on the town of Waybula. Reportedly, 9 people lost their lives, 4 others were injured and 5 houses were damaged.

The Military Council

  • In Hpakant of Kachin State, the junta army arrested the chair of a social group.
  • According to the junta Yangon City Development Committee, 68 teams of artists will perform in the water festival in Yangon Region.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, they will use a Yutong bus donated by China for transportation of staff.
  • According to the junta propaganda team, fees will be collected for the Walking Thingyan in Nay Pyi Taw at the rate of 3000 MMK per adult and 1000 MMK per child.

Summary on 12 April

  • The junta army has been deliberately committing genocide by killing civilians, women and children in groups. Therefore, it is time for the international community to stop such activities of the military junta.
