The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 1:00 pm on 9 July, there was a meeting among Township People’s Administration Teams, legal officers and the Ministry of Judiciary Affairs- NUG.
  • In Wetlet Township and Ayadaw Township of Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces killed local people. Regarding it, the Ministry of Human Rights- NUG released a statement.
  • At 1:00 pm Tuesday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration- NUG and the Township People’s Administration from Yangon Region.
  • The Foreign Minister of Thailand stated that he had the chance to meet with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who reportedly said that she would support the discussions without preconditions to resolve Myanmar’s crisis. Regarding it, the Minister of Foreign Affairs responded to it as illegitimate.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In his secret trip to Naypyi Taw on 9 July, the Foreign Minister of Thailand met with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in detention.
  • The Indonesian Government claimed that they had a deep discussion about the implementation of the 5-Point Consensus to help resolve Myanmar’s crisis.
  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • On Wednesday, a rally of Yinmabin North marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Shwebo Township, there was a mine attack on a 12-wheel truck carrying junta soldiers on patrol on the Shwebo-Kyaukmyaung Road at about 9:00 am on 8 July. Reportedly, there might have been casualties.
  • At 11:00 am on Tuesday, there was a grenade attack on the junta army stationed at the old palace site. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died.
  • In Shwebo, there was a grenade attack on the junta army in town at about 11:00 am Tuesday. Reportedly, there might have been casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Monywa Township, there was an attack with 107mm grenades on the junta Northwest Military Headquarters at about 2:30 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, a junta soldier died and 9 others including a captain were seriously injured.
  • In Ayadaw Township, the junta army set fire to Kanyin Village on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, over 50 houses were burnt to ashes.
  • On Tuesday, the PDFs announced that the public should only use Sagaing-Monywa Road and Sagaing-Shwebo Road within specified hours.
  • On Wednesday morning, 5 junta ships heading up the Ayeyarwaddy River conducted bomb attacks via drone on local villages along the river bank.
  • In Magwe Region, there were bomb attacks via drone on the junta police station in Myaing and Pyusawti in Kanni Village at about 5:30 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.
  • In Pauk Township, there were attacks on the junta army and Pyusawti in Ywathit Village and Tadgone Village at about 5:00 am Tuesday. Reportedly, 10 junta members died.
  • In Myaing, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta police station in town. Reportedly, a junta member died and two others got injured.
  • In Bago Region, a political prisoner named Zin Myint Tun who had been sentenced to 5 years in Dike-U Prison. On 27 June, he was shot dead by the junta army saying that he would be transferred to another prison.
  • In Pulaw Township of Taninthayi Region, local PDFs sealed off four houses and a farm belonging to the members of the junta Pyusawti Militia in Nateaintaung Village on Tuesday.
  • In Kyaikto Township in Mon State, local PDF attacked a junta convoy on Yangon-Mawlamyein Road at 11:20 am Tuesday. Reportedly, some junta vehicles were damaged. In response, the junta army wildly shot gunfire at the houses along the side of the road.
  • In Thatone Township, there was a bomb attack via drone on No. (1) junta army regiment at about 6:00 am on Tuesday.
  • On behalf of well-wishers from Yangon, the focal person of the Rural Land donated tarpaulins to the displaced people in Demoso Township in Karenni State.
  • Regarding the sale of weapons from India to the military junta committing war crimes and national corruption, Justice for Myanmar sent an open letter to the President of France on Tuesday.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Kyaukme Township and Muse of Shan North, there were battles between the junta army and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army for two consecutive days.
  • In Titain Township of Chin State, a combined force of CDFs and PDFs raided and attacked a junta army camp on Tuesday. Reportedly, there were a large number of casualties among junta soldiers and weapons were confiscated.
  • In Thandaunggyi Township of Kayin State, the KNLA and the PDF attacked Yardo junta army camp on Tuesday. Reportedly, there was a heavy battle in which the junta army conducted aerial attacks.
  • At 1:30 am Wednesday, the junta army conducted air strikes on an IDP camp on the Thai-Karenni border. Reportedly, two people lost their lives and a school, clinic and houses of the displaced were damaged.

The Military Council

  • In a meeting with the junta armed forces in Buthidaung of Rakhine State on Monday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that the military junta had been doing the right thing no matter what.
  • The second junta leader Soe Win stated that it was necessary to strengthen the social security system and create job opportunities for the senior citizens as the number of the elderly will increase in the future.
  • The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun stated that the Union Supreme Court had a hearing related to the appeal for the imprisonment of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
  • On Tuesday, there was a meeting between the junta peace team and the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) in Naypyi Taw. Reportedly, they discussed the points they would like to amend in the Constitution and the implementation of the peace conference.
  • On Tuesday, the junta Union Election Commission met with the three political parties based in Kachin State and inspected their activities in accordance with the laws and by-laws.
  • On Tuesday, the junta Election Commission met with political parties in Rakhine State and inspected their activities.
  • On Tuesday, the junta Examination Department announced that students who had not taken the matriculation exam for various reasons and those who failed it would be allowed to sit for the Grade 12 exam held in 2024.

Summary on 13 July

  • In Shan North, there were local battles between the junta army and powerful EAOs such as the TNLA and the KIA.
  • In cooperation with the military junta, Thailand served as a political mediator surpassing ASEAN. However, the other member states will not recognize them beyond the framework of the ASEAN.
