The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In a statement on Wednesday, the NUG congratulated the Karenni State Interim Administration Council for their official formation and introduction to the public on 12 June.
  • On Tuesday, the National League for Democracy (NLD) announced that they had called on ASEAN and the international community to carry out more activities to take action against the military junta committing a variety of crimes.
  • In an article to the US Institute for Peace (USIP), the revolutionary leaders such as U Yi Mon, General Gun Maw and U Min Ko Naing jointly wrote that Myanmar deserves international assistance like Ukraine and if they got even 1% of the support given to Ukraine, the revolutionary forces would be able to win against the military junta within months.
  • In the first press conference of the Karenni State Interim Administration Council on Monday, the responsible personnel stated that the administrative teams and the revolutionary forces spreading all over Karenni State would be collectively formed as a government.
  • The NUG stated on Tuesday that they had appointed Australian economist Prof. Sean Turnell to be the special advisor of the Interim Central Bank.
  • The Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG announced that they had provided 10-day training on investigating to the People’s Security Forces from 4 townships of Sagaing Region.
  • At 10:00 am Tuesday, there was a meeting between the People’s Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG and Township People’s Security Forces from Sagaing Region and Magwe Region.
  • At 10:00 am Monday, the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) presented about their activities to the MPs from Kachin State, Kayar State, Kayin State, Chin State and Mon State.
  • At 1:00 pm Tuesday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration- NUG and Township People’s Administration from Yangon Region.
  • At 3:00 pm Monday, there was a meeting between the Education Committee and the Public’s Affairs Committee under the CRPH. Reportedly, they discussed cooperation in the education sector.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Sagaing Region, a rally of Yinmabin North marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday morning.
  • On their 816th day of protest, a combined rally of Yinmabin and Salingyi marched on Wednesday for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Khin-U Township, 6 members of the revolution forces got injured in a mine accident on their way back after a mine attack on the junta army on Tuesday afternoon.
  • In a village on Monywa-Amyint Roadside, there was an anti-junta public talk on Tuesday.
  • In Wetlet Township, the revolutionary forces attacked the junta army stationing in Hanlin at about 5:30 am Monday. Reportedly, there were casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Phaungbyin Township, the junta armed forces had a great loss in local battles and retreated.
  • In the north of Kantbalu Township, the junta armed forces invaded the area in 3 troops on Wednesday morning. They then set fire to Shangone Village. Consequently, thousands of people from 12 local villages have had to run away.
  • In Yesagyo of Magwe Region, the Local Strike Committee placed a banner calling for disarmament at the place where a large number of the junta armed forces have been stationed.
  • In Pulaw Township of Taninthayi Region, the junta army shot mortars into Kyaung Naimt Village daily. Consequently, 2 people got injured and the whole village had to run away.
  • In Ayeyarwady Region, a rally of Kyankhine Township Strike Committee conducted an anti-junta movement on Wednesday.
  • In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, there was an attack with a variety of mines on the junta army on their way back after mine clearance operations on Sunday evening. Reportedly, 7 junta soldiers died.
  • In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, PDFs attacked a Pyusawti Camp in Thayetkwa Village at 4:40 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers and Pyusawti members died.
  • In Dimawso Township of Karenni State, the Rural Land donated rice and other food items to the displaced people on Wednesday.
  • In the news of Thai Nation Online on Wednesday, over 3,000 Myanmar refugees ran away to the town of Ban Sin Hin on the border of Thailand and Myanmar.
  • In the report on human rights violations, the NLD claimed that 1,200 party members including 77 MPs have been in detention.
  • The BBC news said that former President U Win Myint in detention at Taungoo Prison has been in poor health and thus, a request was made for his medical treatment at a hospital outside of prison.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Pale Township of Sagaing Region, the ABSDF and PDFs attacked the junta armed forces at about 7:30 am Wednesday. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died.
  • In Mon State, a combined force of the KNLA and local PDFs attacked the junta armed forces based in Thatone on 7 June. Reportedly, the Commander of the junta army Regiment (402) was seriously injured and died while receiving medical treatment.
  • According to the PKPF on Wednesday, all the junta camps were confiscated along the border of Thailand and Karenni State.
  • In Karenni State, the KA and the KNDF conducted simultaneous attacks on 4 junta camps including Mese Police Station on Tuesday morning. They also confiscated 42 weapons of various kinds.
  • In the Chin Journal, the Chair of Chin National Front/ Chin National Army claimed that they had discussed with the CDFs from all over the state for stronger administration in Chin State.
  • In Hakha Township of Chin State, the CNA lost 2 members in Lonkartaung Battle.
  • In Pekone Township on Shan-Kayar border, 27 junta soldiers including an officer died and weapons were confiscated in local battles from 3 to 13 June.
  • There has been heavy fighting between the junta army and the Karenni Combined Force since a large number of junta soldiers have been trying to gain control of Mobye. According to Mobye PDF, they have been badly in need of bullets.
  • In Lecha Township of Shan State, the junta army sent a letter to the SSPP/SSA to withdraw from their 10 camps. In response, the SSPP/SSA claimed that they would not do so.

The Military Council

  • In the news on BBC Myanmar, the junta propaganda leader General Zaw Min Tun stated that it was just a rumor that the lieutenant-generals met with State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi in detention.
  • The military junta announced on Tuesday that they had appointed U Tint Wai to be the Chief Legal Officer of Magwe Region.
  • The junta National Human Rights Commission announced on Tuesday that they would urge the respective department for the prisoners who passed the matriculation exam to continue their university education.
  • The junta Union Election Commission announced on Tuesday that they had approved of forming of 7 new parties out of 13 applicants.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, business people from Myanmar were invited to take part in the 27th China (Cumin) Expo and the 7th China South Asia Trade Fair in August.
  • On Tuesday morning, there was a meeting between Myanmar and Bangladesh for accepting the refugees who had run away from Rakhine State.
  • According to the Director General of the junta Ministry of Transportation and Communication, Rakhine State was able to access again 98% of its telecom services after it was hit by Cyclone Mocha.
  • In Paung Township of Mon State, a military truck of FAW hit two motorbikes on Thanlwin Bridge at about 1:30 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, a motorcyclist fell under the bridge and lost their life. Besides, the military vehicle turned over, killing a junta soldier.

Summary on 15 June

  • The military junta informed the SSPP to withdraw their forces. Consequently, there might be tension between them and it might be followed by battles.
  • To cover up their military and political crisis, the military junta might have denied the news that their officers had met with Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
