The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ministry of Labor-NUG announced that they had not assigned any representative yet for collecting a survey on overseas employment and the application of OERC registration card for Myanmar workers in other countries including Malaysia. They added that they would soon release the procedures in detail.
  • On 12 August, Minister of International Cooperation-NUG claimed that a lot of weapon support would be available on the day when Yangon could be controlled.
  • According to the spokesperson of the President Office-NUG, the NUG have got techniques to produce weapons on their own and they are getting started with projects of weapon production.

Revolution Activities

  • In Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, local PDFs attacked the junta Ma-U gate on Monywa-Mandalay Road at 2:00 am Monday. According to Chindwin Attack Force, no less than 6 junta soldiers died.
  • On Monday, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship. Reportedly, a protest leader from Mandalay joined them and had an anti-junta talk to the public.
  • As a 554-day protest, a powerful rally of Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Indaw Township, a local revolution force destroyed junta army products, which had been confiscated on Indaw-Kyaunggone Road.
  • In Khin-U Township, a military convoy was attacked with mines near the crossroads on Saturday morning. According to Shwe Bo Defense Force – SBDF, there were many casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Madayar Township of Mandalay Region, the junta army was attacked with mines on their way for a clearance operation in the area. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers including a captain died and 3 others were seriously injured.
  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, no less than 10 members of the junta armed forces died in 4 attacks by an alliance of 17 local PDFs under the Raven Operation.
  • On Monday, Yaw PDF expressed their apology to the public for the loss of weapons worth of over 300 lakh MMK in a fire at their warehouse.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, local PDF attacked the car of Soe Win, a police sergeant in Mayanchaung Area. According to Kyaikhto Revolution and Information Network, all 3 members of the junta police in the car died.
  • In Kachin State, a rally of Hpakant people marched against the military dictatorship on Monday. They also expressed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG.
  • In Loilinlay on Shan-Karenni border, the junta army conducted air strikes via fighter jets on the place where the IDPs had been staying. Consequently, the children of the IDPs had to hide. On Monday, Free Burma Rangers released a video about that.
  • On Sunday, a guerrilla force based in Shan South set a challenge for 50 bags of rice and they would donate them to local IDPs.
  • According to a member of Urban Guerrilla, anti-junta forces and protesters have been facing hardships due to the high cost of living.
  • On Saturday, vocalist Saung Oo Hlaing conducted a concert in Maryland State of the US to raise funds for the refugees and PDFs in Myanmar. Reportedly, they received over 50,000 USD.
  • On her 26th birthday on Monday, actress Myat Noe Aye said that she would make a lucky draw with her most valued ring in a campaign named Project Dream to raise funds for the revolution.
  • On Monday, 7 organizations including Blood Money stated that Human Rights Watch must be held accountable for their big mistake of inviting the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and they must send the invitation to the NUG.
  • On Sunday, Anti-junta Committee (Korea) celebrated their one year anniversary of One-Day Challenge in 15 cities of South Korea.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Kawkarait of Kayin State, there was a battle in town. According to KNU, 12 members of the junta armed forces including a police officer died, a legal officer and a clerk were caught alive, and 6 weapons were confiscated.
  • According to Tai Freedom media of Restoration Council of Shan State- RCSS/ SSA, their chief editor passed away on Monday morning.
  • In Tandabin Township of Bago Region, there was a fighting between the junta armed forces and Karen National Union forces starting from Monday morning. According to local people, the sound of mortars could be heard constantly.

The Military Council

  • The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that about 1,300,000 gallons of fuel oil had arrived in the country and 12 fuel oil ships would come as well in a few days.
  • The junta state and regional administration claimed that the shortage of fuel oil was just a rumour and they would take action against fuel oil filling stations for their suspension or limited sale.
  • According to the junta edible oil committee, their reference price for wholesale on Monday was 4140 MMK per viss. In reality, the market price was nearly 10,000 MMK.
  • The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that they had set up most people’s security groups in Sagaing Region with the most powerful revolution.
  • Khit Thit Media published the confidential letter by the junta minister of foreign affairs to the Indian government, the confidential letter about the trip of the junta deputy minister of livestock to Nay Pyi Taw and the confidential fax about the mine attack on junta soldiers in Wandwin Township. Regarding such information leakage, nearly 100 government employees were arrested for investigation.
  • On Monday, State Counselor Daw Aung San Su Kyi was sentenced to another 6 years in prison on 4 charges of corruption related to the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation.

Summary on 15 August

  • The forces of KNU were able to attack the junta army even at offices and police stations in town. In their attacks, up to 12 members of the junta armed forces died.
  • Due to mismanagement of the military junta, there was shortage of fuel oil in the country. However, the dictators just threatened service providers and told the public that 13 tons of fuel oil had arrived.
  • In Sagaing Region, the revolution was still in great momentum and the same was true for attacks in KNU areas. Reportedly, the junta armed forces had a great loss in every battle.
