Yangon Region

· In South Dagon Township, Naing oxygen plant announced that oxygen would be refilled only when the signature of township military officer Nay Myo Aung was brought along.

· In Mingaladone Township, there was a campaign against the military dictatorship on Saturday, with the theme - “Even if I am alone, my blood will never cool down”.

· According to Yangon Administration Council, oxygen would be available free of charge soon in Yangon as negotiations had already been made with private oxygen plants, in addition to state-owned ones.

· Some township general administration departments informed grass-roots level administration to collect household lists of the public in Yangon and send them by 19th July at the latest.

· According to his affiliates, U Phyo Min Thein, Yangon Regional Chief Minister who was arrested by the military junta, is in the emergency department of Mingaladone military hospital due to COVID-19 infection.

Mandalay Region

· On Friday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public.

· A rally of variety forces protested against the military dictatorship on Friday night, chanting - “This is the final battle uprooting the military junta”.

· In Pyigyi Dagun Township, the public managed to conduct their night strike against the military dictatorship on Friday.

· In Nyaung-U Township, a rally of NYU GenerationZ held an anti-junta protest at Manisithu market on Saturday morning.

· On Saturday morning, a rally of Aungmye Thazan protested against the military dictatorship, chanting “Give back our Aungmye Thazan. Give back our Mandalay. Give back our Nation”.

· In Myingyan, the group of Bad Guys with Good Hearts announced that a grenade had been thrown into the house of Ward (8) administrator.

· To mark their 159-day protest, a rally led by Mandalay Monks’ Union marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday.

· A rally of Aung Pinle General Strike expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Saturday.

· Chanting “No discussion for bloody debt”, a rally led by Mandalay-based Ta-Ka-Tha students expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Saturday.

· On Saturday afternoon, a rally of Mandalay gems traders expressed their desire for the end of the military dictatorship.

Sagaing Region

· With a large number of people, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Saturday morning.

· A rally of Monywa General Strike expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.

· In Kalay Township, local residents marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Saturday.

· In the south of Kalay, there was a battle between the junta armed forces and Kalay PDF in Ashaysi village at about 5:00 am Friday. According to Kalay PDF, the military junta lost 8 soldiers in that fighting.

· In Pale Township, junta police and soldiers pretend to be civilians and make patrols around the town with ordinary cars. Therefore, local residents are not to go out on the streets after 8:00 pm starting from 18th July to avoid possible shooting incidents.

· In Shwebo Township, a rally of Seikkun made a protest against the military dictatorship on Saturday.

· In Dibeyin Township, Sar-Oo rally led by women marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday, chanting “Our longyi, our flag, our victory”.

Magwe Region

· In Natmauk Township, there was a farming strike against the military dictatorship in a village on Saturday morning.

· In Sinbaungwe Township, the junta armed forces didn’t find U Yan Aung Myo, NLD member and regional MP, in their raid. Reportedly, they killed his 67-year old father U Tin Ohn for no apparent reason.

Taninthayi Region

· Due to constant crackdowns by the junta armed forces in Dawei, young residents made a night strike against the military dictatorship on Friday.

· In Longlone Township, the youth led an anti-junta movement on Saturday.

· In Longlone Township, local residents of Thajettaw village protested against the military dictatorship on Saturday.

· In Kanbauk area, a rally led by young students expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, holding signs - “Get rid of ethnocentrism. There are more than 9 martyrs”.

· In Longlone Township, there was a motorbike protest against the military dictatorship in Sitbye village.

· In Longlone Township, the youth and the students made a campaign for COVID-19 prevention at the market in Kyetyetdwin village on Saturday morning, distributing masks.

· In Natcinshaung village of Longlone Township, a rally comprising students and local residents made a protest at dawn Saturday and expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.

· In Longlone Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship in Gadatgyi village on Saturday evening.

Kachin State

· In Moemauk Township, 3 junta soldiers killed a woman of 51 in Nwelun village. The military junta announced that they would take action against those soldiers.

Mon State

· In Mawlamyein, the youth made an indoors strike for the end of the military dictatorship on Saturday.

Kayin State

· According to local residents, the junta armed forces set no less than 5 houses on fire for no apparent reason in Kuseit village of Mutraw (Pha-Pun) District.

· In Pha-ang, a lot of criticism came out with regard to the spreading news that funding of the townspeople for the establishment of an oxygen plant had been donated for the plant of COVID-19 control team under the military junta.

Shan State

· In every township of Shan State, the military junta instructed administration staff members to collect data of each and every house in wards and villages, including the map of each house in latitude and longitude.

· According to the instruction of the military junta, all the staff members of border and ethnic affairs departments in Shan State are to watch and discuss the propaganda talk-shows of junta lobbyist Moe Hein.

Chin State

· At the check-point on entrance to Mindat, COVID-19 protective equipment in a car from Kangyi was confiscated. Those items included 5 big packets of masks, two packets of test-kits, a packet of gloves and two bottles of laser spray.

Nay Pyi Taw

· Ministry of Electricity and Energy - NUG dismissed 15 officers who threatened CDM staff and keep working for the military junta.

Summary on 17th July

· In Yangon, there were almost no protests. Although there are oxygen supplies contributed by donors at the junta hospitals, the number of COVID patients is limited to get medical treatment there. Therefore, oxygen is still needed for those who have been receiving treatment at home on their own. The number of dead people is on the rise daily.

· Amidst arrests in Mandalay, public protests still had great momentum. The need for oxygen is increasing there as well due to COVID-19.

· In Sagaing Region and Taninthayi Region, there were still powerful protests against the military dictatorship. In Sagaing, there were anti-junta movements and junta-pillar clearance activities by local PDFs.

· In other states and regions, there were almost no protests. The public have been struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic on their own.
